Cover letter

Dear Henrii Team, I'm writing to express my enthusiasm for the Glass Leading Apprentice position at Henrii. With a hands-on background in glasswork and an appreciation for the discipline of craft, I’m excited by the opportunity to contribute to your studio’s commitment to precision, patience, and artistry.

Over the past two years, I’ve worked as a Studio Technician at UrbanGlass in Brooklyn, NY; one of the leading public-access glass studios in the country. I began as a student monitor and quickly progressed into a technician role, where I managed day-to-day operations, maintained shop safety, assisted in teaching beginner-level glass classes, and supported artists across a wide range of projects. This role deepened both my technical skills such as glass cutting, kiln programming, and equipment troubleshooting; and my understanding of what it means to support a creative environment that values integrity in process. I've also had the opportunity to assist in stained glass courses, where I became familiar with copper foil work and cutting techniques, while developing a quiet attentiveness to process and repetition.

My background in fashion design, combined with experience in neon fabrication and color theory, allows me to approach form and detail with both artistic sensitivity and practical skill. Henrii’s reverence for tradition and innovation resonates deeply with me. I’m drawn to your ethos of elevating materials through disciplined craft and am eager to grow within a studio that celebrates the uniqueness of the handmade. I hope to bring not just my hands-on experience, but also my adaptability, team spirit, and genuine respect for material exploration to your atelier. Thank you for considering my application. I would be honored to speak further and learn more about how I can contribute to your team.If you would like to view my portfolio you can find me at houseofbasilica.com Warm regards, El Quesada
